For over fifteen years, 55DSL the original Italian street wear company have filled millions of wardrobes around the world. During this time they’ve also been heavily involved within the street sub-cultures that have inspired this casual wear: Bloody Beetroots, Fakso, MTV, DIM MAK, Complete Technique and Zound are just some names that have collaborated with 55DSL.
This September sees the launch of not only another classic FW’11 range, but also the start of an ongoing exploration into some of Italy’s other creative exports: it’s artists.
The Kids In Italia series begins with two short films (made in partnership with VICE), which document these game-changing artists at work.
Lele Saveri is an Italian photographer who divides his time between Milan and New York. Working around the world he has shot for the likes of Rolling Stone, NME and VICE. The film follows him as he explores and shoots traditional Sicilian festivals for his forthcoming book.
Giulia Centofante and Elisa Bee are DJs from Milan. ‘Giulia From Above’ and ‘Elisa Bee’ play together as a rare female duo in a scene dominated by male DJs. As we follow them in the build up to a party they’re putting on in the biggest club in Milan, the girls give us their insights and motivations from this unique perspective.
This “Kids In Italia” series is supported by the “55DSL Italians Friends and Family” t-shirt series, celebrating the most original stuff happening in Italian street culture today as seen through the eyes of its global creative community. 55DSL tracks down the next generation of Italian street culture ambassadors and explores the environments in which they play.

29/09/11 Type: Art - Genre: Electronic
55DSL, streetwear brand of Only the Brave Group (Diesel) has always been close to young people through fresh attitude and its graphics influence , music and urban culture, presentes in collaboration with Vice: Show ‘n’ Tell.
The Show’n'Tell is a nice middle way between a round table and conversation between friends that show
each other’s favorite things, and who better to represent them.
The target? Take stock of the situation on the state of creativity today in Italy.
To do this, we turned to the people affected, selecting nine young Italian talents divided between music,
publishing, graphic design, illustration and design. Asking them to bring one of their favorite items.
Gathered around a table, and resuming their long conversation.
During the day, the boys have brought to the table a lot of interesting points.
Starting from the clash between quantity and quality within the creative industry, to arrive at new forms of Do It Yourself.
The first guest is Lorenzo Senni, italian musician, founder and factotum of the label Presto?! Records and Burgerdreams.
