Professor LaCroix’s VIP AREA podcast is marking its 5th anniversary this January, and we’re super happy to welcome Nassau as our very first guest DJ! He’s pulled some of his best edits, rubs and 80s Italo beats for an hour of classic disco you’ll want to play back on infinite loop. With tracks by G.G. Near, Hypnosis, Timerider, Paul Sharada, Cyber People, Sandy Marton, Image and more (most are the DJ’s own edits) it’s like the hit soundtrack to a lost Italian John Hughes film that you can’t stop dancing to. You love it!

Ajello was born from the meeting between Luca DJ Rocca Roccatagliati and Fabrizio Taver Tavernelli. The habitat where this collaboration develops itself is the Maffia Club of Reggio Emilia, historic club for the electronic music development in Italy.
Ajello is one of the most important nu-disco projects in the italian scene. Their productions and remixes are played by DJs as Dimitri From Paris, Andrew Weatherall, Boy George, Tiga, Luke Solomon John Digweed, Layo & Bushwacka, Nick Fanciulli, Miss Kittin, Funk D’Void.
On november 23 their second album “Smells Like Too Cheesy” will be release by Danny Was a Drag King record label.
We listened a podcast/promo and we think that “Smells Like Too Cheesy” is definitely one of the best album releases of 2011. In a few years this album will probably remember as a masterpiece of the golden age of nu-disco.
There are also some special guests who contribute with their different musical experiences: Krisma, Fred Ventura, Hard Ton, Jyoti, Amari, Kristina, Bengi and Don Chico.

For over fifteen years, 55DSL the original Italian street wear company have filled millions of wardrobes around the world. During this time they’ve also been heavily involved within the street sub-cultures that have inspired this casual wear: Bloody Beetroots, Fakso, MTV, DIM MAK, Complete Technique and Zound are just some names that have collaborated with 55DSL.
This September sees the launch of not only another classic FW’11 range, but also the start of an ongoing exploration into some of Italy’s other creative exports: it’s artists.
The Kids In Italia series begins with two short films (made in partnership with VICE), which document these game-changing artists at work.
Lele Saveri is an Italian photographer who divides his time between Milan and New York. Working around the world he has shot for the likes of Rolling Stone, NME and VICE. The film follows him as he explores and shoots traditional Sicilian festivals for his forthcoming book.
Giulia Centofante and Elisa Bee are DJs from Milan. ‘Giulia From Above’ and ‘Elisa Bee’ play together as a rare female duo in a scene dominated by male DJs. As we follow them in the build up to a party they’re putting on in the biggest club in Milan, the girls give us their insights and motivations from this unique perspective.
This “Kids In Italia” series is supported by the “55DSL Italians Friends and Family” t-shirt series, celebrating the most original stuff happening in Italian street culture today as seen through the eyes of its global creative community. 55DSL tracks down the next generation of Italian street culture ambassadors and explores the environments in which they play.
Come discover “Kids in Italia”.
